Electric truck charging operator Milence has launched its first UK site at Able Humber Port (AHP) in Immingham, England. The facility, situated along the A180 with access to major motorways including the M180, M18, and M1, will initially feature four CCS chargers with a power capacity of up to 400 kW, supplying a total of eight charging points.
The strategically located Able Humber Port serves as a key logistics hub for the region, handling over 30 roll-on/roll-off (ro-ro) and lift-on/lift-off (lo-lo) shipments weekly.

It provides vital trade links between the UK, Northern Europe, Scandinavia, and the Baltic region, making it a significant choice for Milence’s expansion. The company has set a standard tariff of £0.399/kWh net for charging at the new hub.
Milence, a joint venture between Daimler Truck, Traton, and the Volvo Group, has plans to expand the hub’s capabilities in the future, potentially incorporating Megawatt Charging System (MCS) technology once compatible electric trucks become available. The company’s first MCS charging points were commissioned in February at the Port of Antwerp-Bruges.

The Immingham site follows Milence’s established design approach, offering covered charging bays suitable for long-haul trucks. Additional amenities include toilets, vending machines, and secure parking equipped with access control and camera surveillance to enhance driver and freight security.
The opening of the Immingham charging hub marks a milestone in Milence’s broader goal of establishing at least 1,700 high-performance charging stations across Europe and the UK by 2027.
While Milence is committed to building a network for heavy-duty electric trucks and coaches, the company stresses that a wider industry effort is required to support large-scale adoption.
