Nissan has introduced the Nissan Qashqai e-POWER as a variant of the Nissan Qashqai hybrid electric car technology.
The Nissan Qashqai has officially become Nissan’s first SUV model in Europe to adopt the e-POWER series hybrid drive system.
Quoting from Nissan’s official release, Qashqai e-POWER is here as an answer for European crossover consumers who drive more in urban areas.
“The introduction of the innovative e-POWER technology in the new Qashqai brings Nissan’s spirit to be a pioneer in the crossover segment,” said Guillaume Cartier, Chairperson of Nissan Africa, Middle East, India, Europe, and Oceania (AMIEO) region.

“Consumers will love the feeling of driving an electric car without having to think about charging,” added Cartier.
Nissan Qashqai e-POWER specifications
Like other e-POWER cars, the Qashqai e-POWER can be fueled as a generator, battery, and electric motor that drives wheels.
For the engine, the Qashqai e-POWER gets a turbo three-cylinder engine with a capacity of 1,461 cc. Having variable compression ratio (VCR) technology, this machine can spit out 158 hp.

The main function of the turbo engine is to generate electricity for the battery and an electric motor driving the front wheels.
No half-hearted, the Qashqai e-POWER electric motor can spit out 140 kW or 190 hp and 330 Nm of peak torque.

Given that the Qashqai e-POWER is fully powered by an electric motor, it gets some of the features of an electric car.
Call it the e-Pedal Step system that allows the driver to control the speed of the car with one pedal only.
The plan is that the Nissan Qashqai e-POWER will go on sale at the end of the summer of 2022.
