75% newly registered buses in Denmark are electric

In Denmark, electrification also goes into public transport. From January to October, three-quarters (308 of 408) of all new full-size buses registered in Denmark were electric buses.

Local media Bussmagasinet reports that most of the new electric buses are supplied by companies from China. Electric buses from Volvo and Scania are completely absent from the Danish registration statistics.

In its report, Bussmagasinet noted that 178 electric buses were provided by Chinese manufacturers with a share of 58% of the total electric buses registered in the last ten months in Denmark.

Yutong leads the Danish electric bus market with 72 new registrations from January to October. In March 2021, Yutong said their electric bus market share had reached 60% in Denmark.

Van Hool’s new A13 trolleybus, shown at Persontrafik in Stockholm, takes second place in the Danish registration statistics with 67 buses.

Chinese Golden Dragon is in third place with 58 electric buses, then Setra with 35 buses, followed by Ebusco with 31 electric buses, Solaris with 29 and BYD with 21 electric buses.
