Zypp Electric Invests in Odysse Electric, Orders 40,000 Electric Scooters for Delivery Services

Zypp Electric, an ‘EV-as-a-service’ provider, has made a significant investment in Indian electric scooter manufacturer Odysse Electric, ordering 40,000 electric two-wheelers to be used for last-mile delivery services. The investment, the exact amount of which has not been disclosed, is intended to support Odysse Electric’s nationwide expansion, helping to scale up its production capacities and dealer network. The first batch of scooters is expected to be delivered over the next three years.

Nemin Vora, CEO of Odysse Electric, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, “This strategic collaboration with Zypp Electric marks a significant milestone for us. Their expertise in fleet electrification and understanding of the EV market will help accelerate our plans for nationwide growth. This partnership aligns with our vision to promote sustainable transportation and meet the increasing demand for electric vehicles.”

Akash Gupta, co-founder and CEO of Zypp Electric, explained that the company plans to deploy 200,000 electric vehicles over the next two to three years as part of its initiative to decarbonize the last mile of logistics. He emphasized that the investment in Odysse Electric aligns with Zypp’s core principles, noting that the manufacturer demonstrates a commitment to quality and the ability to meet specific customer needs.

Founded in 2017, Zypp Electric is a technology-enabled platform that aims to make last-mile logistics both sustainable and emission-free. The company’s model supports carbon-free deliveries for local retailers, e-commerce giants, and delivery services. With in-house technology, Zypp Electric tracks the batteries used in its vehicles, which can be swapped out at its exchange stations, further streamlining the delivery process and reducing environmental impact.
