Zenobē has secured a €325 million debt facility to accelerate the expansion of its fleets-as-a-service business across Europe, aiming to deploy up to 1,000 electric buses, trucks, and chargers in key EU markets including Spain and Germany. The company said the funding, combined with its own capital, would bolster electrification efforts for commercial fleets and public transport systems across the European Economic Area.

“We not only offer financial backing but also provide the expert guidance necessary to empower fleet operators to switch to electric,” said Steven Meersman, Founder Director at Zenobē. “This new facility will help us to make the cleaner option even more financially competitive – reducing any perceived green premiums and in some cases even achieving green discounts.”

In Spain, Zenobē is partnering with Grupo Julià to electrify its Barcelona fleet, investing €42 million to finance 44 electric buses and deliver the associated charging infrastructure. The UK-based firm, which focuses on fleet electrification and battery storage, said it currently supports over 3,400 electric vehicles across 120 depots globally and is active in countries such as Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Sweden.

Meersman added: “By reducing the total cost of ownership for electric fleets through bespoke financing, optimisation software, energy management and more, we are committed to enhancing the economic viability and accessibility of electric transport across Europe.” Zenobē has also contributed to major international projects, including the financing of 130 electric buses for National Express Coventry and a joint €520 million initiative to electrify Brampton’s bus network in Canada.
