Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Zeekr has unveiled its forthcoming full-size SUV, the Zeekr 9X, positioning it as a global flagship ultra-luxury model. The 9X will be the first to incorporate Zeekr’s advanced super electric hybrid technology.
The company plans to debut the Zeekr 9X at the Shanghai Auto Show in late April, with deliveries expected to commence in the third quarter of 2025. An ultra-luxury variant, the Zeekr 9X Grand, is anticipated to be priced above RMB 1 million yuan (approximately $137,840).

This launch signifies Zeekr’s strategic shift from exclusively offering battery electric vehicles (BEVs) to including plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) in its lineup. The Zeekr 9X will be the brand’s inaugural PHEV model, reflecting the company’s adaptation to evolving market dynamics and its intent to cater to a broader consumer base.
Zeekr’s head of product, Allan Li, commented on the company’s direction, stating that while BEVs remain a primary focus, PHEVs are becoming an integral part of their electrification strategy. He noted that the forthcoming SUV would be “very, very high-end,” suggesting the inclusion of advanced features and luxury elements.
