Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Zeekr has reported a remarkable reception for its debut mainstream electric sedan, the Zeekr 007, during its pre-sales phase. The company disclosed that within nine days of initiating pre-sales, they received over 25,000 pre-orders for the model.
Unveiled at the Guangzhou auto show on November 17, the Zeekr 007 entered pre-sales with an initial price tag of RMB 229,900. However, a limited-time discount prompted a reduction in the pre-sale starting price to RMB 224,900, further fueling consumer interest.
Customers reserving the Zeekr 007 by paying RMB 1,000 ($140) during the pre-sales period are entitled to a RMB 5,000 discount on their final payment, a promotional offer reiterated by Zeekr.
The Zeekr 007 is built on Geely's Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) and is positioned as a B-segment sedan, featuring dimensions of 4,865 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,450 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,928 mm.
Notably, the model is offered in both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive variants. The rear-wheel-drive version boasts an impressive acceleration, reaching 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in as fast as 2.84 seconds, while the four-wheel-drive variant achieves this in 5.4 seconds.
All configurations of the Zeekr 007 leverage the 800 V high-voltage architecture, emphasizing enhanced range and faster charging capabilities. The entry-level version promises a range of 688 kilometers under the CLTC standard, while the long-range variant extends this to 870 kilometers.
Zeekr's consistent updates on the Zeekr 007's performance, coupled with the surge in pre-orders, underline the growing enthusiasm for the company's entry into the mainstream electric vehicle market. The model is scheduled for official sales launch and deliveries commencing in early January 2024.
