Geely’s premium EV brand Zeekr achieved a record high in vehicle deliveries in December, with a total of 11,337 vehicles delivered. This marks an increase of 198.66% from the 3,796 vehicles delivered in December of the previous year, and a 2.96% increase from the 11,011 vehicles delivered in November.
In the fourth quarter of the year, Zeekr delivered a total of 32,467 vehicles, representing a year-on-year increase of 440.49% and a quarter-on-quarter increase of 58.65%.
Zeekr, Geely’s premium EV brand, announced that it met its goal of delivering 70,000 vehicles for the full year of 2022, with a total of 71,941 vehicles delivered. The company also reported that the average order value of its vehicles exceeded RMB 336,000 ($48,720).
Zeekr was officially launched as an independent company in March 2021 and released its first model, the Zeekr 001, in April, with deliveries beginning in October. In November 2022, the brand launched its second model, the Zeekr 009 MPV, with deliveries set to start in January 2023.
On December 7, Zeekr filed a draft registration statement for a potential initial public offering (IPO) with the SEC on a confidential basis, with Geely Automobile Holdings announcing on December 13 that Zeekr will remain a non-wholly owned subsidiary of the company upon completion of the spin-off.
It was reported by Reuters on December 12 that Zeekr is seeking a valuation of over $10 billion in its potential US IPO, which aims to raise more than $1 billion. This would be the first major US IPO of a Chinese company in about a year and a half. Zeekr aims to double its sales in 2023 to approximately 140,000 vehicles and expand into Europe.
