Zeekr announced major strides in its global expansion efforts with the signing of cooperation agreements in Indonesia and Malaysia, marking its official entry into these markets. The agreements were inked with Indonesia’s PT Premium Auto Prima in Jakarta and Malaysia’s Sentinel Automotive Sdn. Bhd. in Kuala Lumpur.
The move will see Zeekr establishing its initial store in Jakarta, Indonesia, with plans for subsequent outlets in key cities such as Surabaya and Bandung already in motion. In Malaysia, the first Zeekr store is set to open in Kuala Lumpur, with future outlets planned for major cities like Selangor and Penang later this year. The company’s flagship models, the right-hand drive (RHD) version of the Zeekr X SUV and Zeekr 009 MPV, will lead its entry into these markets.
Recently, on June 7, the first RHD versions of the Zeekr X rolled off the production line in China, signaling the imminent start of overseas deliveries in the third quarter of this year.
Zeekr’s global footprint now spans more than 25 markets, with plans to enter over 50 international markets in 2024. This expansion strategy includes regions across Europe, Asia, Oceania, and Latin America.
As of the end of May, Zeekr has solidified its presence with 392 stores worldwide, complemented by the establishment of 1,076 charging stations. The company has also launched 487 ultra-fast charging stations, boasting a total of 2,615 ultra-fast charging piles. Looking ahead, Zeekr aims to increase the number of ultra-fast charging stations to 1,000 by 2024 and 10,000 by 2026, further enhancing its global charging infrastructure.
