Zeekr has launched its first models in Egypt, marking its debut in the African market as part of its international expansion strategy, the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer announced on Monday.
The company introduced the Zeekr 001 shooting brake and the Zeekr X compact SUV at an event in Cairo on February 11. The Zeekr 001 is priced from 2.7 million Egyptian pounds ($53,350), while the Zeekr X starts at 2.1 million Egyptian pounds.

Zeekr has established its first store in Cairo and plans to expand its presence to cities including Alexandria and New Cairo. The company highlighted Egypt as Africa’s second-largest EV market, where demand for electric vehicles is rising.
“This marks a new milestone in Zeekr’s globalization journey,” the company said, adding that it has now entered over 40 international markets.

Zeekr first introduced the Zeekr 001 in April 2021 in China, where it currently starts at RMB 259,000 ($35,510). The Zeekr X was initially launched in April 2023, with the 2025 model starting at RMB 149,000 ($20,450) in China as of July 2024.
