Zeekr, the premium electric vehicle (EV) subsidiary of Geely Holding Group, has begun delivering vehicles in Norway, marking another step in its European expansion. The first Norwegian owner, Jan Arild Nilsen, an IT professional, took delivery of his Zeekr 001 shooting brake in Oslo, the company announced today. Nilsen previously drove a Skoda Octavia, transitioning to Zeekr as part of the automaker’s push into Norway.
Zeekr formally announced its entry into the Norwegian market on October 9, continuing its European rollout that began in the Netherlands and Sweden. Norwegian customers were given the opportunity to order the Zeekr 001 and the Zeekr X compact SUV in late October, with initial deliveries anticipated before year-end. “Our network of retailers in Norway, starting with Premium Cars Stor-Oslo, will support our Norwegian customers,” a Zeekr representative stated.
Following its entry into Europe in April 2023, Zeekr launched pre-sales of the Zeekr 001 and Zeekr X in the Netherlands and Sweden, with production commencing at its factory in Ningbo, China, in August 2022. The first deliveries in Europe took place in the Netherlands in December 2022.
Zeekr recently posted record-breaking sales in China, delivering 25,049 vehicles in October, a 91.55% increase year-on-year. For the first ten months of 2024, the company reported 167,922 units delivered, reflecting an 82.32% increase from the prior year. With a target of 230,000 vehicles for the full year, Zeekr aims to maintain an average of 31,000 units monthly through the year-end.
