Zeekr, Geely’s premium electric vehicle (EV) brand, has commenced the delivery of its latest production vehicle, the Zeekr X, to customers in China. The Zeekr X was officially launched two months ago, and the company announced the successful delivery of the vehicle to owners in 25 cities across the country.

Zeekr, which became an independent company in March 2021, introduced two other models prior to the Zeekr X: the Zeekr 001 hatchback and the Zeekr 009 MPV, both of which are currently available for purchase. In May, Zeekr delivered 8,678 vehicles, marking a 7.12 percent increase compared to April and the fourth consecutive monthly increase.

As of the end of May, Zeekr has delivered a total of 109,961 vehicles since its inception. Unlike the Zeekr 001 and Zeekr 009, which are manufactured at the Ningbo plant in Zhejiang province, the Zeekr X is produced at one of Geely’s plants in Chengdu, Sichuan province.

The Zeekr X comes in three versions, with the starting price of RMB 189,800 ($26,580) for one variant and RMB 209,800 for the other two. Since its launch, the Zeekr X has been available for pre-order, and the company aims to deliver 40,000 units of this model by the end of the year. Overall, Zeekr plans to double its total deliveries from last year to approximately 140,000 units in 2023.

According to Zeekr, nearly 20 percent of Zeekr 001 and Zeekr 009 owners have opted to purchase an additional Zeekr X to cater to the transportation needs of different family members. The average order amount for the Zeekr 001 was RMB 336,000, while for the Zeekr 009, it was RMB 527,000, as reported in the June 1 announcement of May delivery figures.

The Zeekr X is available in both a four-seat and a five-seat version, with the company stating that 70 percent of consumers now choose the four-seat configuration.
