Chinese EV maker Xpeng reported a positive market response to its G6 SUV in Singapore, just months after its entry into the region. In September, the G6 ranked among the top three best-selling all-electric SUVs in Singapore, the company noted in a recent post on its WeChat account.

Xpeng launched its Singapore presence on July 25 with a flash store at UOB Plaza, where prospective buyers could test drive the G6. Deliveries began in late August, and by September, the G6 was reportedly competing closely with Tesla’s delivery volumes, though Xpeng did not disclose specific figures.

To enhance its market presence, Xpeng inaugurated a new showroom on November 2 at 281 Alexandra Road, offering more than 800 square meters across two floors. The showroom hosted an open weekend event from November 2 to November 3, inviting local residents to experience the G6 firsthand.

“The G6 marks our first step in Singapore,” said Xpeng Vice President James Wu, who confirmed that the company plans to introduce additional models in the region. Initially launched in China in June 2023, the G6 competes with Tesla’s Model Y and starts at RMB 199,900 ($28,140) in China. Singapore prices are considerably higher, with the standard version beginning at SGD 214,999 ($163,330), which includes the mandatory Certificate of Entitlement (COE).
