Chinese automaker Xpeng has officially revealed details about its latest electric vehicle, the Xpeng X9, confirming prior leaks. The electric van will be available in three variants, two featuring a 235 kW electric motor in the front, and an all-wheel-drive version with an additional 135 kW electric motor in the rear. The variants with a single electric motor will utilize LFP cells from Eve Energy, boasting capacities of 84.5 kWh and 101.5 kWh. The front-wheel-drive model and the all-wheel-drive variant will use NMC cells from CALB, offering a 101.5 kWh capacity.

Built on the SEPA 2.0 architecture with rear-axle steering support, the Xpeng X9 boasts a tight turning radius of just 10.8 meters. The vehicle’s dimensions measure 5293/1988/1785 mm, with a wheelbase of 3160 mm.

Previous reports hinted at an impressive range for the X9, reaching up to 702 kilometers. The smaller variants are expected to have ranges of up to 610 and 640 kilometers.

Customers in China can now place pre-orders for the electric van by paying a deposit of 2,000 yuan (approximately $280). In return, they will enjoy a 5,000 yuan discount and additional perks, including a lifetime warranty. Further details about the X9, along with its official sales launch, are anticipated in December, with the initial deliveries scheduled for January.

As the seventh model in Xpeng’s lineup and the first in the new X series, the X9 marks the company’s expansion into the electric van segment. While Xpeng’s previous models have been categorized under the P series for sedans and G series for SUVs, the company has not yet provided clarity on whether the X9 will be made available in Europe or other markets outside China.
