Chinese electric vehicle maker Xpeng revealed the Max variant of its popular Mona M03 electric sedan, with show cars arriving in showrooms from May 21 and an official launch planned for later this month.
At an event featuring current Mona M03 owners, Xpeng’s chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng formally unboxed the Max variant. The company originally launched the Mona M03 in August 2024 with three variants — 515, 620, and 580 Max — priced from RMB 119,800 ($16,590) to RMB 155,800.
Deliveries of the more affordable 515 and 620 variants began in August last year. Since its debut, the Mona M03 has led China’s A-segment pure electric sedan sales for eight consecutive months, Xpeng said. Notably, 90% of the sedan’s buyers are aged under 35.
The Max variant offers three new exterior colors — purple, grey, and cyan — expanding beyond the standard beige, black, and white options. Xpeng also introduced over 50 official color variations to appeal to younger buyers.
Upgrades in the Max include a stronger pure vision driver assistance system and the advanced Xpeng Turing AI driving system, which is also featured in the company’s higher-end G6 and G9 SUVs. The Max variant also boasts a full Tianji cockpit system for enhanced voice interaction and user experience.
