Xpeng said it received more than 12,500 firm orders for its newly launched Mona M03 Max and Plus variants within the first hour of their release, underscoring strong demand for the budget electric sedan.
The Chinese EV maker unveiled the new variants at an event on Sunday evening, where it confirmed that the Max variant accounted for 83% of the early orders. âThis surpasses the performance of the Mona M03 during its initial launch last year,â Xpeng said in a statement on social media.
The Mona M03 Max is priced from RMB 129,800 ($18,040) and offers two CLTC range options: 502 km and 600 km. It comes equipped with Xpengâs Turing smart driving system, which enables AI-assisted driving across all public roads in China without additional fees. The system is powered by dual Nvidia Orin-X chips delivering 508 TOPS of computing powerâroughly four times more than comparable models.
The more affordable Mona M03 Plus, starting at RMB 119,800, includes adaptive cruise control, lane-centering, and parking assistance but lacks the full Turing suite. Xpeng said the Mona M03 was its best-selling model in April with 14,210 units delivered, accounting for over 40% of monthly sales. CEO He Xiaopeng also hinted at future Mona models aimed at international markets.
