Xpeng said on Monday it has begun rolling out its global XOS 5.8.0 over-the-air (OTA) software update, introducing new driver-assistance, cabin comfort, and personalization features to its vehicles worldwide.
The update is the company’s third major OTA release this year, following XOS 5.4.5 in January and XOS 5.6.0 in May. Xpeng said the latest version builds on user feedback and reflects its focus on safety, intelligent driving, and customer experience.

“With XOS 5.8.0, the third major OTA release of 2025, each of these releases raised application standards in safety, personalization, and driving assistance,” the company said in a statement.
Among the highlights of the new release is Human-Machine Co-Driving, which Xpeng says makes it the first automaker in Europe to offer the feature as standard. The function allows Lane Centering Control to remain engaged even when drivers steer, aiming to deliver smoother assistance in highway merges and exits. Adaptive Cruise Control has also been updated to allow higher cornering speeds and more comfortable deceleration.

The update also introduces Pet Mode, designed to maintain a safe environment when animals are left in the vehicle for short periods. The system automatically locks doors, regulates cabin temperature, and sends alerts through the Xpeng app.
Other changes include the addition of KaraFun karaoke in the in-car App Store, expanded dashcam availability in European markets with emergency recording, and improved climate controls tailored for tropical regions. Xpeng’s XCOMBO personalization tool now supports 21 languages and more than 700 customizable functions.
