Xpeng officially launched its latest electric sedan, the P7+, in Guangzhou today, with a starting price of RMB 186,800 ($26,100), marking an 11% reduction from its pre-sale price of RMB 209,800 set in mid-October. The P7+ aims to become Xpeng’s next high-demand model following the successful release of the Mona M03 sedan.
The P7+, available in two standard versions starting at RMB 186,800 and RMB 198,800, and a limited edition of 500 units starting at RMB 218,800, boasts dimensions larger than its predecessor, the P7i, and includes a powerful 60.7 kWh or 76.3 kWh battery. The entry model has a CLTC range of 602 km, while the higher-capacity versions offer 685-710 km, with slight increases expected via a system update.
The P7+ is powered by a single-motor rear-wheel drive system, offering 180 kW or 230 kW of peak power depending on the variant, and acceleration times ranging from 6.9 to 5.9 seconds from 0-100 km/h. Equipped with Xpeng’s advanced driver-assistance system powered by Nvidia Orin X chips, the P7+ relies on a vision-based “Eagle Eye” system, marking Xpeng’s shift from LiDAR to a Tesla-style camera-only approach.
Xpeng CEO He Xiaopeng reported that the P7+ received over 10,000 orders within 12 minutes of its launch. The model’s AI capabilities extend to frequent software updates, including monthly over-the-air improvements to enhance driving and in-cabin experiences.
