Xpeng said on Monday it has completed trial production of the updated P7+ sedan at its Austrian manufacturing site, clearing a key step ahead of the model’s imminent launch in Europe.
The 2026 Xpeng P7+ has finished trial production at the Graz plant, with Chinese and Austrian teams now moving into the next phase of research, development and production processes to ensure quality standards ahead of customer deliveries, the company said.

Xpeng said it expects the updated model to deliver intelligent and comfortable mobility experiences for global users, as it prepares to roll out the sedan in overseas markets. The progress comes as the automaker accelerates its European expansion following the start of localized production on the continent last year.
Xpeng said that the updated P7+ and an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) version of its G7 sport utility vehicle will be launched in China on Jan. 8 and in Europe on Jan. 9. The China launch event will take place in Guangzhou, where Xpeng is headquartered, while the European event will be held in Brussels.

Both the P7+ and G7 are currently sold only as battery electric vehicles. The upcoming introduction of EREV variants forms part of Xpeng’s “dual-powertrain” strategy, which combines a large battery pack with a fuel-powered range extender to address consumer concerns over driving range and support further sales growth.
The Austrian facility uses production lines operated by Magna Steyr, a unit of Magna International. Xpeng began manufacturing its G6 and G9 SUVs at the site in September 2025, marking a milestone in its localization strategy for Europe.

Beyond Austria, Xpeng has also started localized production in Indonesia and Malaysia as it broadens its international footprint. The company was among China’s fastest-growing electric vehicle makers in 2025, delivering 429,445 vehicles for the year, a year-on-year increase of about 126%.
Overseas deliveries reached 45,008 vehicles in 2025, up 96% from the previous year. By the end of 2025, Xpeng had expanded its presence to 60 countries and regions worldwide, the company said earlier this month.
