XPeng chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng is in the United States testing Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) software, which is expected to be introduced in China later this year, according to a report by CnEVPost.
He Xiaopeng took to Weibo to share his experiences and solicit feedback from his followers, asking, “I’m visiting the US for a longer period of time this time and dropping by to test the latest version of FSD and Waymo version. What aspects are you most interested in comparing between Tesla’s full self-driving software and XPeng’s XNGP (XPeng Navigation Guided Pilot).

He further noted, “I have the Tesla FSD V12.3.6 version and if you have the 12.4.1 internal beta you can lend it to me, thanks.”
This visit underscores XPeng’s commitment to advancing its autonomous driving technologies, as it prepares to compete with Tesla’s offerings in the Chinese market.
In related developments, XPeng recently showcased its innovative flying car, the X2, in Beijing at the China Langfang International Economic and Trade Fair. This demonstration marks a significant milestone towards the commercialization of the vehicle, aligning with the Chinese government’s increasing focus on the low-altitude economy. The sector’s market is projected to exceed 1 trillion yuan (approx. $138 billion) by 2026.
