Xiaomi on Monday launched its Sky Nomad lineup of extended-range electric SUVs in China, expanding the automaker’s range beyond battery-electric vehicles. Prices start at 209,900 yuan ($30,960), with the lineup targeting a broader range of customers through five- and seven-seat configurations.

The initial range includes the five-seat N70 Pro and N70 Max, the seven-seat N90 Max and a five-seat N90 Max Explorer edition designed for camping use. The models are priced from 209,900 yuan to 299,900 yuan, with the N70 Max and N90 Max launching below their previously announced pre-sale prices.

Four Sky Nomad Variants

The N70 Pro starts at 209,900 yuan, while the N70 Max is priced at 239,900 yuan. The N90 Max costs 269,900 yuan, with the N90 Max Explorer edition priced at 299,900 yuan.

The N70 Max is 20,000 yuan below its July 30 pre-sale price, while the N90 Max is 30,000 yuan lower. Xiaomi’s automotive lineup previously consisted of the SU7 sedan and YU7 SUV, both battery-electric models.

The N70 series is positioned as a mid-to-large five-seat SUV. It measures 4,960 mm long and 1,998 mm wide, with a 2,950 mm wheelbase. Xiaomi is emphasizing rear-seat space and flexible cabin configurations.

N70 Offers Up to 1,461 km of Combined Range

The entry-level N70 Pro uses a single-motor, front-wheel-drive system producing up to 210 kW (282 hp). It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds.

The model uses a 52-kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, providing a CLTC electric range of 351 km and a combined range of 1,351 km with a full tank and battery.

The N70 Max adds dual-motor all-wheel drive with a maximum output of 310 kW, reducing the 0-to-100 km/h acceleration time to 5.5 seconds. Air springs and continuously variable dampers are standard.

Its 76-kWh ternary lithium battery provides a CLTC electric range of 505 km and a combined range of 1,461 km. Xiaomi says a 15-minute charging session can add up to 310 km of range.

The N70 series also comes standard with a sliding center console and a 9-litre refrigerator. Optional features include swivelling front seats that allow occupants to face each other while parked and a 21.4-inch rear entertainment screen.

N90 Max Adds Seven-Seat Configuration

The larger N90 Max uses a 2+2+3 seating layout for seven occupants. It measures 5,285 mm long, 1,998 mm wide and 1,825 mm tall, with a 3,080 mm wheelbase.

The SUV uses a 76-kWh battery and 310-kW dual-motor all-wheel drive. Xiaomi quotes a CLTC electric range of 464 km and a combined range of 1,705 km.

Air springs are standard, while the N90 Max accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. The first two rows feature massage functions, while the sliding center console and swivelling seats provide additional flexibility when the vehicle is parked.

Explorer Edition Targets Camping

The N90 Max Explorer edition is designed around camping and outdoor use. Its main feature is a factory-integrated powered pop-top roof that creates an additional upper-level space when raised, increasing maximum interior height to 2,294 mm.

The five-seat model has rear seats that fold flat into a bed and includes underfloor heating. Xiaomi quotes a CLTC electric range of 462 km and a combined range of 1,688 km.

The company says the pop-top roof can only be operated while the vehicle is parked away from public roads.

1.5-Litre Range Extender and Xiaomi HAD

All Sky Nomad variants use a 1.5-litre turbocharged range extender compatible with China’s 92-octane gasoline. According to Xiaomi’s specifications, the vehicles can charge from 20% to 80% in as little as 18 minutes.

The lineup comes standard with Xiaomi HAD, or Hyper Autonomous Driving, driver-assistance technology. The system uses Nvidia’s Drive Thor computing platform with 700 TOPS of computing power.

The N70 Pro and N70 Max each use one LiDAR sensor, while the N90 Max and N90 Max Explorer feature two LiDAR sensors positioned toward the front and rear. All variants also use 4D millimetre-wave radar.

HyperOS Connects Vehicle and Smart Devices

Inside, the Sky Nomad models run Xiaomi HyperOS and use a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. The system supports Xiao AI voice control and connectivity between smartphones, vehicles and smart-home devices.

The launch expands Xiaomi Auto’s product range as the company works to increase vehicle deliveries. Xiaomi founder, chairman and CEO Lei Jun said Monday that cumulative vehicle deliveries had exceeded 800,000.
