The Toyota bZ7, developed through the GAC-Toyota joint venture, is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated electric sedans in the automaker’s lineup. Official images of the car were released on September 10, with its market debut expected later this year. The new model stretches more than 5.1 meters in length, positioning it as a medium-to-large electric sedan, and introduces several firsts for Toyota’s growing bZ family.

At 5130 mm long, 1965 mm wide, and 1506 mm high, with a 3020 mm wheelbase, the bZ7 sits above the bZ3X and bZ4X in the lineup. It adopts a fastback profile with frameless doors, semi-hidden handles, a long triangular quarter glass, and 21-inch multi-spoke wheels (255/40R21 tires).

The front features a closed fascia with C-shaped headlights, while a roof-mounted lidar indicates support for advanced driver assistance provided by Momenta. The rear incorporates a subtle ducktail spoiler, completing its sleek proportions.

The interior design has not yet been fully detailed, but early images reveal a three-spoke steering wheel, a trapezoidal instrument panel, and a central control screen, supported by ambient lighting and wireless charging for mobile devices. The full dimensions of the displays and specifications of the infotainment setup are still pending.

However, the bZ7 is confirmed to run on Huawei’s HarmonyOS cockpit and electric drive system, blending digital intelligence with strong EV performance. Power comes from a 207 kW (278 hp) electric motor, delivering a top speed of 180 km/h, paired with a lithium iron phosphate battery supplied by CALB-Tech. Range and battery capacity figures remain undisclosed.

Beyond hardware, the bZ7 is notable for being the first Toyota model to integrate with Xiaomi’s “Human x Car x Home” smart ecosystem. This allows the car to link with personal devices and smart home products, giving drivers the ability to perform tasks like remotely controlling their home air conditioning directly from the car’s screen. This innovation builds on Toyota’s partnerships with Huawei, Momenta, and Xiaomi, announced in June, signaling a stronger push toward intelligent mobility.

As the bZ7 prepares for its debut, it promises to be more than just a new electric sedan. With its size, design, and tech collaborations, the model could become a flagship for Toyota’s bZ (“Beyond Zero”) brand, offering a blend of premium design, advanced connectivity, and electrification. More details, including range, charging times, and pricing, are expected to be announced closer to its official launch.
