Ahead of its official launch, DeLorean Motor Company (DMC) has unveiled its DeLorean Alpha5 electric car technology.
Information about DeLorean Alpha5 has been revealed through the official DeLorean website for consumers who have registered.
A little discussing the launch, DeLorean plans to introduce the Alpha5 on May 31, 2022.
So what is the successor to the DeLorean DMC-12 ‘Back to The Future’ like? Starting from the design, the DeLorean Alpha 5 looks like a futuristic grand tourer.
Different from its box-shaped predecessor, Alpha5 has a body that tends to be rounded with larger proportions.
Yup, looking at the dimensions, the Alpha5’s body length stretches up to 4,995 mm, the width reaches 2,044 mm and the height is 1,370 mm.
Despite being large, the DeLorean Alpha5 is said to have a low coefficient of friction, which is 0.23 Cd.
Entering the interior, the DeLorean Alpha5 features a digital instrument screen, a minimalist dashboard, and a central screen embedded in the floating center console.
Oh yes, unlike its predecessor, the Alpha5 gets a large gullwing door and accommodates in and out of the rear passengers.
Unfortunately, DeLorean has not provided many detailed specifications of the electric car in collaboration with Italdesign.
However, DeLorean said the Alpha5 is equipped with a Lithium-ion battery with a capacity of more than 100 kWh with a claimed mileage of more than 482 kilometers.
Then about performance, DeLorean claims the Alpha5 can accelerate from 0-96 km / h in 2.99 seconds.
Uniquely related to Back to The Future, DeLorean also claims acceleration from 0-88 miles per hour or 141 km / h Alpha5 in 4.35 seconds.
