Waymo has begun offering driverless rides to and from Nashville International Airport (BNA), expanding its autonomous ride-hailing service in the Tennessee city.

The company announced the airport service on Tuesday, with access rolling out gradually. Riders will receive notifications through the Waymo app when the service becomes available to them.

Waymo began operating in Nashville in April 2026. Since September, passengers using Lyft in the city have also been able to be matched with Waymo autonomous vehicles.

Waymo and Lyft Expand Nashville Operations

Nashville was the first market where Waymo rides became available through both the Waymo and Lyft apps. Lyft users can decline a Waymo vehicle when matched with one or opt out of autonomous trips entirely.

The airport launch extends the companies’ collaboration in the city, adding airport journeys to the trips available through Waymo’s driverless ride service.

Depot Supports Fleet Operations

The expansion follows the opening of an 80,000-square-foot depot operated by Waymo and Lyft near Nashville International Airport. The facility is designed to support charging, cleaning and maintenance for hundreds of autonomous vehicles.

According to the companies, the depot is expected to create more than 70 full-time jobs in Nashville in 2026.

The facility provides operational support for the companies’ growing autonomous vehicle services as Waymo gradually expands airport access to eligible riders.
