Wallbox announced plans to install 58 Supernova 120 fast chargers across central and northern Italy by the end of 2025, under a partnership with Hera Comm, an energy supply company within the Hera Group.
The initiative, supported by Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) and financed by the European Commission’s Next Generation EU programme, seeks to accelerate the expansion of public charging infrastructure and boost electric vehicle (EV) adoption.

The project will focus on the Emilia-Romagna region and nearby areas, including Forlì-Cesena, Ravenna, and Rimini, improving access to reliable and fast-charging options for EV users in both urban and interurban areas. Hera Comm will oversee installation, commissioning, and operation of the charging sites, reinforcing its role in Italy’s growing e-mobility ecosystem.
Each location will feature the Supernova 120, Wallbox’s flagship DC fast-charging system capable of delivering up to 120 kW. Designed for public and semi-public spaces, the Supernova platform offers modular, efficient, and scalable technology suitable for both short daily commutes and long-distance travel.

“This collaboration with Hera Group is a strong example of how technology, local expertise, and government incentives can come together to accelerate EV adoption,” said Ignasi Alastuey, Chief Business Officer at Wallbox. “With Supernova, we are enabling the rollout of a robust, future-ready fast charging network in some of Italy’s most strategic regions.”
The deployment marks another step in Italy’s national strategy to promote sustainable transport and strengthen its EV charging network, aligning with the EU’s broader goal of achieving climate neutrality and modernising Europe’s mobility infrastructure.
