Volvo Car Canada has received Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) certification for the 2027 Volvo EX60 P10 all-wheel drive (AWD), with an estimated driving range of up to 531 kilometres on a single charge.

Longest-Range Volvo EV in Canada

The certified range exceeds Volvo’s earlier estimates and makes the EX60 the longest-range electric vehicle the company has offered in the Canadian market.

The EX60 P10 AWD is the first model built on Volvo Cars’ new SPA3 platform, which incorporates an 800-volt electrical architecture designed to support faster charging and improved efficiency.

According to Volvo, drivers can add up to 265 kilometres of range in approximately 10 minutes when using a compatible DC fast charger.

Native NACS Charging

The EX60 is also Volvo’s first vehicle to feature a factory-installed North American Charging Standard (NACS) charging port.

The integrated connector provides direct access to more than 29,000 Tesla Supercharger locations across Canada and the United States without requiring an adapter.

Certified Range Across Wheel Options

NRCan certified two range configurations for the EX60:

  • Up to 531 kilometres with 20-inch or 21-inch wheels.
  • Up to 502 kilometres with 22-inch wheels.

The model competes in the midsize electric sport utility vehicle segment, one of the fastest-growing categories in the Canadian electric vehicle market.

Preparing for Customer Deliveries

Volvo Car Canada opened customer orders for the EX60 earlier this year following the model’s global debut.

The company said the NRCan certification represents an important milestone as it prepares to begin customer deliveries of the new electric SUV in Canada.
