Volkswagen prepares the arrival of the ID.Buzz GTX, Long-Wheelbase Model

ID.Buzz has indeed stolen the attention since it was first launched earlier this year. Combining classic retro style with the latest electric vehicle technology, ID.Buzz continues the success with other ID.3, ID.4 and ID.5. And now VW brings a longer ID.Buzz and more power but sporty style.

The new electric van will measure 4,710 mm in length, offer five seats, have 204 bhp and be equipped with a 77 kWh battery. Volkswagen’s 100-percent electric van will not only offer seven seats and a large battery, but it will also benefit from the GTX variant.

But the manufacturer plans to soon add a variant that is longer, more powerful, and more generous in battery size. In one of the featured images, we see an expanded profile of this future XXL version of the van.

Volkswagen also mentions the battery with maximum capacity being increased to 111 kWh, a very large number. There is also a “GTX” badge on the steering wheel announcing the arrival of the same variant as the ID.4 and ID.5 GTX with a sportier van.

At the world premiere, VW announced both seven-seater and six-seater, “In the medium term, six- and seven-seater configurations and an extended wheelbase will also follow.”

The version with the longer wheelbase is also interesting because it can accommodate a larger battery. The current 77 kWh battery consists of six modules arranged in pairs. If the new battery gets seven modules twice, one can probably hope for 90 kWh.
