Since the introduction of the Volkswagen ID.4 in March 2021, orders for the vehicle have reached 40,000 with 15,000 cars sold. Another 25,000 buyers will have to wait for Volkswagen to increase production and sales of the Volkswagen ID.4. A little difficult to realize because of the high demand in Europe as well as production constraints such as shortage of semiconductor supply.
The good news is that in 2022, Volkswagen plans to do local production of the ID.4 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The ID.4 battery cells will be supplied by SK Innovation from SK On’s new battery factory in Commerce, Georgia.
