Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has expanded its Transporter line-up with two new battery-electric vehicle (BEV) variants—the Kombi and the Shuttle—marking the first time both models are available with fully electric drivetrains.
The new BEV Kombi, designed for flexible commercial use, is offered in both short and long wheelbase formats. It comes standard with five seats, expandable to six, and features a 65kWh lithium-ion battery providing a WLTP range of up to 196 miles. The model also supports a payload of up to 896kg.
The Shuttle Life variant targets professional passenger transport and large families. Offered with eight seats as standard—and optionally nine—the Shuttle shares the same battery specification, delivering up to 194 miles of electric range on a full charge. Both models join the previously released electric Panel Van in the Transporter BEV line-up.
The Transporter Kombi starts at £53,404, while the Shuttle Life is priced from £56,129. Financing options are available from £449 and £589 per month, respectively. Volkswagen Financial Services is also offering a £2,500 deposit contribution on select models under a Solutions Personal Contract Plan.
Standard features in the electric Kombi include LED headlights, heated front seats, a 13-inch touchscreen with Wireless App Connect, adaptive cruise control, and rear parking sensors with camera. The Shuttle Life adds a heat pump, electromechanical brake booster, and Mode 3 charging cable.
Volkswagen is including its “5+ Promise” with both BEV models, which covers three services, three MOTs, five years’ warranty, and five years of roadside assistance at no extra cost. The automaker continues to bolster its zero-emission commercial offering alongside diesel variants and existing electric panel vans.
