Volkswagen Group announced on Tuesday that it will collaborate with Valeo  and Mobileye  to enhance its assisted and autonomous driving capabilities, expanding its supplier network for future high-volume models.

The German automaker said the partnerships will support the development of Level 2+ automated driving systems, designed to improve driver comfort and safety. “By integrating cutting-edge sensor and software technology, we aim to bring advanced driver assistance features to a wider range of customers,” Volkswagen said in a statement.

Under the agreement, Valeo will supply electronic control units, sensors, and parking solutions, while Mobileye will provide camera, radar, and mapping technologies.

The planned features include hands-free driving under specific conditions, traffic jam assist, hazard detection, parking assist, and driver monitoring.

Volkswagen has been expanding its network of autonomous driving technology suppliers. In 2022, the company partnered with Bosch to co-develop software for various levels of automated driving.
