Yamaha E01 has a Y-Connect connectivity device which is different from the features found in conventional models.
The Y-Connect connectivity mechanism on the E01 no longer uses Bluetooth connectivity with a smartphone to send data to the Y-Connect application server, but uses the SIM Card network.
Yamaha E01 can directly send data directly to the Y-Connect application server without going through a smartphone.
The menu on the Y-Connect Yamaha E01 feature includes a variety of vehicle information, driving history, power consumption, parking locations, to motorcycle settings.
Vehicle Information
Vehicle information will display various information, namely the last distance driven, the estimated distance that can be traveled by the vehicle, and the date the data was obtained.
In that feature, the level or capacity of the battery will be shown through an indicator that changes color according to the remaining power, including above 21 percent green, 20 percent and below orange and a “LOW” warning appears if the battery condition is below 5 percent.
This feature is also able to display the estimated charging time until the battery is fully charged, display the total distance traveled and provide notifications when a breakdown occurs and simplify inspections at the dealership.
Driving History
Y-Connect is able to save your driving history including the average speed while driving, the distance from the starting location to the destination, the date of driving, the driving path will be recorded in the application, the length of time driving to the destination, to the power consumption used during the trip.
Power consumption
This feature also displays a graph of power consumption in months or years and there is also a graph display of power consumption per day with date, power consumption, distance traveled, average speed.
Parking location
One of the advantages of this feature is being able to show the parking position which will automatically be updated for 24 hours. That way, you can immediately find out if your motorbike changes location thanks to notifications given by Y-Connect every 1 hour.
For notifications, Y-Connect will send emails to users and provide notifications on the web when charging is complete or there is a problem while charging.
Battery & Charging System
The E01 is equipped with all the functions expected from a 125cc class scooter with a performance suitable for short to medium range (commuting) mobility.
The E01 carries a futuristic design, adopting a fixed battery that can be charged anywhere according to the consumer’s wishes with three types of charging systems (fast charging, normal charging, portable charging). Portable charger that can be placed in the trunk of the motorbike.
The fixed-lithium ion battery has a capacity of 4.9 kWh which can cover a distance of 104 km when fully charged. Then it is equipped with a charging connector that is placed in front of the motor body which makes it easier to charge when the motorbike is parked.
The E01 has a performance equivalent to a conventional 125cc motorcycle, with three riding modes, namely Power Mode, Standard Mode and Eco Mode.
The E01 electric motorbike uses a Double Cradle Frame and Yamaha Controlled Filling (CF) Aluminimum Die Casting Swing Arm which provides a balance between strength and stiffness, thus making it lighter in weight.
The E01 is also equipped with Dual Channel ABS features, Dual Rear Suspension, Traction Control System, as well as Belt Drive which provides very low vibration and is not noisy. As well as regenerative brakes that provide a very smooth deceleration when the gas lever is closed (engine brake feeling).
