In a recent meeting held at the Turkish House near the United Nations in New York, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan extended an invitation to Tesla CEO Elon Musk, urging him to consider establishing a Tesla factory in Turkey. This request was shared on social media platform X by the Turkish state-owned news agency, Anadolu Agency.

While attending the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly in the United States, Erdogan took the opportunity to discuss potential business endeavors with Musk. As of now, both Tesla and the Turkish embassy in Washington have not issued official comments on this matter.

This news follows Tesla’s recent expression of interest in constructing a factory in India, aimed at manufacturing affordable electric vehicles (EVs). The electric car manufacturer already operates six factories globally, with an additional one under construction in Mexico, reflecting its commitment to expanding its global reach.

Elon Musk, apart from his role at Tesla, is also making headlines for his meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in California. Musk disclosed on platform X that their discussions would center on the advancements in artificial intelligence technology.

In the world of finance, Tesla has experienced remarkable growth, with its shares rising by an impressive 123% throughout the year. Just days ago, the company celebrated the production of its 5 millionth car.

Furthermore, it’s worth noting that Elon Musk, in addition to his involvement with Tesla, made waves by acquiring X, formerly known as Twitter, for a substantial $44 billion in 2022. While Musk has identified himself as a proponent of free speech, his stance has led to a complex relationship with the Turkish government. On various occasions, he has complied with Turkish authorities’ requests for content censorship, while in other instances, the social media company has contested orders from Turkish courts.
