Toyota’s new electric sedan for the Chinese market, the bZ7, will feature Huawei (HKG: 0700) electric motors and other in-car technologies, according to information from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
Developed locally and manufactured by GAC-Toyota, the bZ7 is powered by a DriveOne electric motor sourced from Huawei, delivering 207 kW of output and a top speed of 190 km/h. The collaboration marks a first for a non-Chinese carmaker to use Huawei motors in a production vehicle.

Huawei technology is integrated throughout the bZ7, including the Harmony OS infotainment system. Top-spec models will also include Huawei’s advanced driver-assistance system (ADS) equipped with a LiDAR sensor mounted on the windscreen.
The bZ7 is a large sedan, measuring 5,130 mm in length, 1,965 mm in width, 1,506 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,020 mm. Toyota plans to launch the vehicle in China in the fourth quarter.
