Tesla’s Mocking Cybertruck Returns: F-150 Lightning-Themed Prototype Spotted Again

Tesla’s much-discussed Cybertruck prototype, mimicking the design of the F-150 Lightning, has once again been spotted on the streets of Palo Alto, California. The electric vehicle manufacturer seems unrelenting in its light-hearted trolling of Ford, as this unusual variant of the Cybertruck continues to make appearances around the town.

The prototype, which caused quite a stir when it was initially seen last month, was recently photographed again, this time offering a closer glimpse of its design. Despite the mixed reactions to its unconventional wrap, the vehicle retains its attention-grabbing charm.

Photographs uploaded on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) by user Jesus Molina (@JesusMolinaZep1) and shared by Sawyer Merritt, captured the curious prototype as it navigated the streets of Palo Alto. A video shared by the user Tito Padilla (@ZZTap18) captured the Cybertruck on Interstate 280, although the video cut short just before revealing the front end of the vehicle.

The mocking Cybertruck originally surfaced shortly after Ford’s CEO, Jim Farley, publicly criticized the vehicle, stating that it did not cater to the needs of traditional work truck users. Farley’s remarks pointedly contrasted the Cybertruck’s unibody construction with the sturdy body-on-frame setup of the F-150.

The ongoing appearances of the F-150-themed Cybertruck prototype fuel speculation about Tesla’s intentions and its unconventional marketing strategies. As the electric automaker readies itself for the impending handover event scheduled for the end of this quarter, the peculiar Cybertruck continues to captivate public attention.

Recent sightings have showcased the Cybertruck prototype in a variety of contexts, from covered trucks at the Giga Texas site to it being transported by a Tesla Semi. Furthermore, multiple instances of the vehicle within the Austin plant indicate possible trial production efforts.

As Tesla maintains its deliberate air of mystery around the Cybertruck, anticipation grows for the upcoming handover event, set to transpire at the close of this quarter. Until then, the Cybertruck’s unconventional appearances and design mimicry promise to keep both automotive enthusiasts and industry observers engaged.
