Tesla has initiated a significant software update, version 2024.26, across its fleet, introducing a range of new features aimed at enhancing user experience. Among the notable additions are integration of YouTube Music and Amazon Music, expanding the music streaming options available in Tesla vehicles.

In the release notes shared via Not a Tesla App, Tesla outlined the capabilities of the new music apps:

“Listen to over 100 million songs with YouTube Music Premium. Access your Library to see all of your liked and added songs, playlists you created and artists and podcasts you subscribed to. Requires Premium Connectivity or an active WiFi connection.”

Additionally, Tesla introduced Amazon Music with similar access to a vast catalog of music and podcasts for Prime members, highlighting the service’s offerings for Tesla owners.

Tesla has also enhanced its parental controls with expanded functionalities, allowing parents to set a PIN-enabled maximum speed limit, acceleration restrictions, and other safety features directly from the vehicle or Tesla mobile app. This update aims to provide more security and peace of mind for families using Tesla vehicles.

Another notable feature included in the update is the ability to navigate to sub-destinations, such as specific terminals at airports, providing more precise routing details for drivers.

Furthermore, Tesla has integrated weather and air quality information into the vehicle’s status bar, displaying local conditions and air quality index (AQI) values. This feature, like many others in the update, requires Tesla’s Premium Connectivity subscription for access.

Tesla owners will also benefit from enhanced scheduling options for charging and preconditioning their vehicles, accessible via both the redesigned menu in the vehicle and the Tesla mobile app. This allows users to schedule one-off or recurring charging sessions and control specific charging times.

The rollout of the 2024.26 software update has commenced, but Tesla expects it may take several weeks for all eligible vehicles to receive the update. This approach is typical for Tesla, which regularly delivers over-the-air updates to its vehicles to introduce new functionalities and improvements.

  1. Love what Tesla motors have done for the Environment & humanity with all these EVs.
Did they resolve the Auto feature on the wipers? Yesterday it was 103 degrees, practically zero humidity and the wipers came on randomly. During heavy rains the auto function does not work either. Tesla’s recommended solution is use manual on/off.
I sent them many notifications and videos of how dysfunctional the system is No response.
