In response to customer feedback regarding the perceived lackluster nature of Tesla’s 2023 Holiday Update, the electric vehicle manufacturer has addressed concerns by introducing additional features to enhance user experience. The initial release notes for version 2023.44.25 primarily highlighted quality-of-life improvements, prompting some Tesla owners to express dissatisfaction on social media.
Tesla’s official software tracker, Teslascope, clarified that the initially disclosed release notes did not encompass specific changes for vehicles running Full Self-Driving Beta. Furthermore, Teslascope suggested that more features might be forthcoming, alleviating concerns raised by Tesla enthusiasts.
Acknowledging customer discontent, Tesla CEO Elon Musk responded to a post expressing concerns on Tesla’s official platform, acknowledging room for improvement and asserting the need to “step up our game.”

Following Musk’s acknowledgment, Tesla posted an updated version of the 2023 Holiday Update on its official platform. Notable additions include Custom Lock Sounds, allowing users to replace the standard horn lock sound with alternative options such as a screaming goat, a jingle, or a duck’s quack. Another feature involves enabling passengers in rear seats to play games on the rear touchscreen, a move likely to appeal to parents on extended trips. The Tesla Arcade now supports PS4, PS5, and Xbox Controllers, along with compatibility with Rear Screen Bluetooth Headsets.

One prominent addition is the introduction of High Fidelity Park Assist, allowing compatible vehicles to display a 3D reconstruction of their surroundings during parking. This feature is comparable to the 360-degree camera parking systems found in other vehicles, providing a real-time view of the car’s surroundings during parking maneuvers.
Feedback from electric vehicle enthusiasts on social media suggests a more positive reception of the updated 2023 Holiday Update, with particular excitement expressed for the High Fidelity Park Assist feature. Additionally, users appreciated the whimsical nature of features like Custom Horn Sounds. Tesla’s responsiveness to customer feedback and the introduction of new features have contributed to a more favorable outlook on the latest software update among Tesla owners.
