Tesla Model Y review after 2 years of ownership and driving 35,000 miles

The Tesla Model Y is the most popular electric crossover owned by Tesla today. A Gjeebs Youtuber has just done a review of the Model Y which he has owned for 2 years. Gjeebs first bought the Model Y in 2020 and has covered 35,000 miles.

In 2020, Gjeebs purchased the Model Y Long Range AWD for $54,190. For now, the same model retails for $65,000 before any options.

Gjeebs then compared prices with other electric crossovers now available that weren’t for sale when he got his Model Y back in mid-2020. The electric vehicles for comparison are the Volkswagen ID.4, Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5. Comparison is more in terms of price, range and performance.

Gjeebs emphasizes that the Model Y is easy to use, and improved with OTA updates. Another interesting thing is the resale value of the Model Y, and other Tesla Models are generally good.

Another positive thing is Tesla’s Supercharger network and various service centers. One thing that is a negative note is the suspension. It’s a bit too fast, with a ride that isn’t quite as good as its rivals.

Gjeebs generally concludes that the Model Y is a great car, but not quite the $65,000. If he bought a new EV today, he’d be getting a Model 3 instead.
