Tesla’s cars are known in the industry for their incredible acceleration. Even for the S Plaid model is the electric car with the fastest acceleration.

Tesla Model S Plaid is an electric car with the fastest acceleration from 0-60 mph or 96.5 km/h in 2.3 seconds ever tested by Motortrend.

“When experiencing acceleration, it is very clear that the only force you feel is the back of the Tesla chair,” the publication wrote.

Motortrend also tested it and several other electric vehicles to see which one was the fastest and determined the winner. Motortrend has published a list of the 10 fastest-accelerating electric vehicles they have tested, and the 2021 Tesla Model S Plaid is listed as the fastest.

The publication notes that the most common measure of acceleration for most people is the measurement of the time it takes to reach a speed of 0 to 60 miles/hour. “With 3.0 seconds to reach a speed of 60 miles/hour, a vehicle exerts roughly the same gravitational force as a human in free fall,” Motortrend wrote.

Even though the Tesla Model S Plaid is in first place as the fastest accelerating electric vehicle, reaching speeds of 0-60 mph in 2.3 seconds, there are some things that cannot be explained.

Motortrend when testing the car, the actual acceleration time was 1.98 seconds on a specially prepared track and 2.1 seconds on the standard test track they always use.

“The next day we took the car to our regular test facility, where it did a 0-60 sprint in 2.1 seconds,” Motortrend wrote. The 2021 Tesla Model S Plaid is 2.1 seconds.

The 2021 Tesla Model S Plaid is equipped with three incredibly efficient and powerful electric motors. All-wheel drive thanks to a motor with two at the rear to further increase the power boost.

“The advanced traction control system interacts seamlessly with the electric motor. All of this produces 1020 horsepower and 1050 ft-lb of torque,” writes Motortrend.
