Tesla has unveiled a new color option for the Model Y Juniper refresh, named Glacial Blue or Glacier Blue. This new hue has made its first appearance in the wild, with sightings in China.
The Glacial Blue color is lighter and blue-tinged compared to previous shades offered by Tesla, setting it apart from the automaker’s typical palette.
The new blueish shade bears some resemblance to Tesla’s complex multi-coat Quicksilver color option, though it appears lighter and without the usual metallic and dark undertones associated with Tesla’s more premium finishes. It remains unclear if Glacial Blue is a multi-coat paint, as the first real-world images suggest it may not feature the same shimmering effect seen in multi-coat colors.

The Glacial Blue color option is priced at $1,100 in China and other Asia-Pacific regions where the Model Y Juniper is available for preorder. In Australia, however, Tesla is running a promotion offering all Model Y Juniper colors, including Glacial Blue, at no extra charge. The new color is a paid option in China, alongside the Pearl White multi-coat paint, while Quicksilver and Flame Red cost 50% more.
Despite its subtle appearance, the new color has been well-received, with Tesla already securing 50,000 orders for the Model Y Juniper on its launch day in China, even though the official release date is set for March.
