Tesla has once again implemented significant price reductions on its brand-new Model 3 vehicles within its North American inventory. Coinciding with speculation surrounding the imminent unveiling of the Model 3 refresh, dubbed Project Highland, in China on September 1, the automaker aims to entice potential buyers with substantial savings.

Having previously offered discounts of up to $2,500 on various Model 3 trims back in June, Tesla has now escalated the discounts to even greater heights. The Model 3 RWD (Rear-Wheel Drive) sees a markdown exceeding $4,100, while the Model 3 Long Range boasts a price reduction surpassing $5,000. Notably, the Model 3 RWD located in New York City, originally priced at $41,240, is now listed at $37,120. After factoring in the $7,500 federal tax credit, the effective price of the Model 3 RWD falls below $30,000.

For those interested in the Model 3 Performance inventory, substantial discounts are also evident, reaching over $5,500 in certain cases. For instance, a specific Model 3 Performance model in Beverly Hills, California, is currently priced at $49,720, reflecting a discount of $5,520.

The prevailing question centers around whether these generous price cuts signify Tesla’s intention to deplete its existing Model 3 inventory ahead of the impending launch of the refreshed Model 3. Chinese media outlets have been abuzz with reports suggesting that the launch of the new Model 3 is imminent, with a slated reveal date of September 1.

A pivotal role in the unveiling is anticipated for Gigafactory Shanghai, where reports have indicated the production of the revamped Model 3 for over a month. Recent weeks have witnessed an increase in sightings of test vehicles not only in China but also in some European countries, hinting at an imminent official announcement.

Notably, a Tesla Model 3 prototype was spotted in Germany on August 28, adorned with manufacturer plates. This prototype exhibited comparable features, including camouflage, rear reflectors, and taillights, to previous concealed prototypes sighted in the United States, New Zealand, and China.

As anticipation heightens, expectations regarding the refreshed Tesla Model 3 are centered on a redesigned front end, a reimagined rear adorned with vertical LEDs in place of the conventional horizontal ones, and an updated interior set to incorporate ambient lighting and various other enhancements.
