Electric vehicle maker Tesla has informed several customers of unexpected delays in Cybertruck deliveries, prompting the cancellation of some scheduled appointments, as reported by multiple sources.
In a message sent to affected customers, Tesla stated, “Hi, we have just been informed of an unexpected delay regarding the preparation of your vehicle. We need to cancel your delivery appointment for tomorrow and we will reach out again when we’re able to get you back on the schedule. We apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to hosting your Cybertruck delivery soon!”
The delay appears to stem from a problem with the accelerator lubricant, causing the pedal to slip, according to reports from the Cybertruck Owner’s Club forum and Whole Mars Blog. The pause in deliveries is expected to last over the next seven days.

Despite these setbacks, Tesla has been ramping up production of the Cybertruck at its Gigafactory in Austin, Texas, with recent drone footage suggesting a production rate of 900 to 1,000 units per week. The company has been delivering early units since its debut event in November, with many reservation holders eagerly awaiting their delivery dates.
Data from Cox Automotive indicates that Tesla delivered 2,803 Cybertruck units in the first quarter of this year. Additionally, Tesla has been using the Cybertruck for advertising purposes, showcasing the unique electric vehicle (EV) in the U.S. and other countries. While the Cybertruck is not yet on sale outside of the U.S., Tesla has been touring the vehicle through China, Japan, and Germany, with potential plans to introduce it in Thailand.
