The excitement of receiving a Tesla Cybertruck turned into a nightmare for one new owner when the truck broke down just 35 miles (56 km) into its first journey. The delivery experience was reportedly sub-par, and the owner claimed that Tesla initially refused to cover the issue.
The owner, who posted his experience on a Tesla forum under the username Cybeast, titled his thread “35 Miles Until Cybercrap.” He described picking up the truck in Pensacola, Florida, only to find it dirty both inside and out, with the battery at only 47% charge. This led to his frustration, as he had never received a new car without a full tank of gas.
The situation worsened when the owner had to locate a Supercharger station to charge the truck fully. Upon reaching the station in Destin, Florida, coolant began pouring out of the rear of the truck. Despite Tesla’s initial claim that coolant leaks were not covered under warranty, they eventually agreed to send a tow truck after the owner insisted.
The truck is currently at the service center, but there is no indication of how long the repair will take. This incident serves as a warning to other Cybertruck owners, highlighting the importance of caution as Tesla may be unwilling to cover certain issues, even if they are likely due to production errors.
