Tesla has reduced prices on its Model Y inventory in the United States, with discounts of up to $8,400, ahead of the anticipated launch of the 2026 Model Y facelift, known as the Juniper refresh. The price cut brings the base Model Y Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) down to $33,890 after federal tax credits, as Tesla moves to clear existing stock.
The Juniper refresh has already debuted in China, where Tesla recently removed the Launch Series edition from sale. In the U.S., the refreshed Model Y is currently only available as a high-priced Launch Series preorder, bundled with Full Self-Driving (FSD) and other options, pushing its cost to nearly $60,000.

Tesla’s latest price reductions indicate that the broader Juniper refresh launch in the U.S. could be imminent. The automaker is offering significant discounts across various Model Y trims. A Model Y Long Range All-Wheel Drive (AWD) demo unit with 700 miles on the odometer is now available with an $8,320 discount, bringing its price down to $36,170. This particular model includes premium features such as Quicksilver paint, dark 19-inch Gemini wheels, and a Black and White Premium Interior, all typically added-cost options.
The top-tier Model Y Performance version, which will not be included in the initial Juniper refresh rollout, has also received substantial discounts. A demo unit with only 200 miles is listed at $36,590 after an $8,400 price reduction, including optional features like Deep Blue Metallic paint.

Tesla has not yet disclosed pricing for non-Launch Series versions of the Juniper refresh in the U.S. The new Model Y is expected to retain the existing battery capacity, 400V powertrain, and low-voltage architecture, meaning charging speeds will remain unchanged. With the launch reportedly set for March, customers looking for lower-cost options may find current Model Y deals more attractive than waiting for the updated version.
The extent of Tesla’s inventory clearance suggests that the Juniper refresh could be released in the U.S. soon. However, the Model Y Performance variant may not see a facelifted version until later in the year, potentially in the fourth quarter.
