Tesla China has rolled out a new promotion for its domestic customers in celebration of the upcoming Chinese New Year. As part of the festivities, the electric vehicle manufacturer is offering a 30-day free trial of its Enhanced Autopilot (EAP) system, a popular advanced driver-assist feature, to compatible Tesla vehicles across the country.

According to Tesla China’s announcement on Weibo, the trial, which began on January 24, 2025, allows eligible vehicles to access EAP at no cost for 30 days.

In addition to the core EAP features, such as automatic navigation, lane changing, and parking, the promotion also includes the advanced Smart Summon (ASS) function, further enhancing the driving experience for Tesla owners during the Spring Festival.

Tesla China detailed the benefits of the promotion, noting that users can enjoy a safer and more convenient journey during the holiday season. “New Year benefits are here. Tesla’s enhanced automatic assisted driving function (EAP) is free to use for 30 days. You can experience all these functions, including automatic assisted navigation driving, automatic assisted lane change, automatic parking, and advanced smart summoning function (ASS),” the company said in the post.

While Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology is not yet available in China, the inclusion of ASS in the trial provides a glimpse into Tesla’s future capabilities, showcasing the potential of autonomous driving in the country. The trial aims to entice Tesla owners to experience the full range of advanced driver-assist features, potentially increasing interest in FSD once it becomes available in China.
