Technotrans, a provider of cooling solutions, has announced a significant follow-up order from ADS-TEC Energy in the high single-digit million euro range. This marks the second major order from ADS-TEC Energy for Technotrans cooling solutions for the ChargePost battery storage fast-charging station.
The ChargePost is a cutting-edge charging station designed to deliver up to 300 kW of charging capacity. It features a rectangular charging system measuring 1.3 x 1.5 x 2.4 meters, equipped with two HPC connections, a battery capacity ranging from 144 to 201 kWh, and up to two 75-inch advertising displays spanning the height of the outer surface.
Technotrans’ cooling system, as described by the company last year, incorporates both active cooling using a power-controlled compressor chiller and passive cooling using a free cooler. The passive cooling variant utilizes ambient air for cooling, making it highly energy-efficient according to the manufacturer. Additionally, ADS-TEC Energy has remote access to the system for maintenance and operation monitoring.
In addition to cooling the power electronics and battery storage unit, Technotrans’ solution also extends to cooling the two large advertising displays. Noteworthy is the system’s high cooling capacity within a small installation space and its energy-efficient operation.

The new order, valued in the high single-digit million euro range and spanning one year, seamlessly follows the initial order placed in 2023. Production of the cooling solutions is slated to commence in May this year at Technotrans’ production site in Steinhagen.
