Tata Motors has launched the Tata Tiago EV as the newest electric car in India (28/9). The Tata Tiago EV is here to complete Tata Motors’ electric car lineup after the Nexon EV and Tigor EV as well as being one of the most affordable electric cars in India.
At an affordable price, the Tata Tiago EV offers two choices of front-wheel-drive electric motor power, namely 60 hp or 73.7 hp.
In addition, the Tiago EV also comes with two battery capacity options, each of which provides a claimed mileage of 250 km and 315 km.
So what about the features? Although the Tiago EV has a low price, it turns out that Tata has not forgotten to ‘tuck in’ the latest advanced features.
Starting from the connectivity features, the Tata Tiago EV gets the ZConnect telematics feature that connects the owner and the car via a smartphone or smartwatch.
Through ZConnect, owners can track their car, set geo-fencing, check battery charge status, and can turn on the car’s air conditioner remotely.
The interior of the Tata Tiago EV also has seats wrapped in leatherette and is equipped with dual airbags, a digital instrument cluster, and Auto AC.
Like the Nexon EV MAX, the Tiago EV also gets a 7-inch touchscreen head unit from Harman that is connected to an 8-speaker audio system.
This Harman head unit already supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto mobile connectivity and has a voice command feature.
Other features that have complemented the Tiago EV include Cruise Control, sport mode, Indirect Tire Pressure Monitoring System (iTPMS), refrigerated glovebox, and a puncture repair kit.
