Tata Motors has commenced series production of its new flagship electric SUV, the Harrier.ev, just one month after its official unveiling. The company has already received more than 10,000 bookings and is preparing to start customer deliveries before the end of July.
The first unit of the Harrier.ev rolled off the assembly line at Tata Motors’ manufacturing facility in Pune, Maharashtra. Painted in the model’s signature ‘Nainital Nocturne’ blue, the vehicle marks a key milestone in the company’s expanding electric vehicle portfolio. Tata had initially introduced the internal combustion version of the Harrier in 2019 and has since adapted the platform—originally based on JLR’s D8 architecture—for full electrification.
“The all-new Harrier.ev is a major step forward in our EV journey, and we are encouraged by the strong customer response so far,” Tata Motors said in a statement. “With over 10,000 orders placed, we are confident the Harrier.ev will set new benchmarks in the segment.”
The Harrier.ev is available in eight configurations, with prices ranging from ₹2.149 million to ₹2.974 million (approximately €21,000 to €30,000). Customers can opt to include a 7.2 kW AC home charger for an additional ₹49,000. Tata is offering both rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) variants, powered by permanent magnet synchronous motors and induction motors respectively. The RWD variant offers a choice between 65 kWh and 75 kWh LFP battery packs, with a maximum driving range of up to 627 kilometres on a single charge.
The AWD version features dual motors delivering a combined 291 kW and 479 Nm of torque, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds. Charging times for both battery options are estimated at 25 minutes for a 20–80% top-up via 100 kW and 120 kW DC fast chargers. Tata is backing both battery packs with a lifetime, unlimited-kilometre warranty for first private owners.
