Swarco Smart Charging Launches PoGo Ultra-Fast Charging Network in UK

Swarco Smart Charging, a leading charging infrastructure provider in the UK, has announced its plan to launch an ultra-fast charging network across England, Scotland, and Wales. Named PoGo, the network will comprise over 2,000 high-powered charging stations located at public facilities such as grocery shops and cafĂ©s over the next four years. The company aims to promote the spread of electric vehicles through PoGo’s increased availability and reliability. PoGo stands for “Power and Go,” emphasizing the short charging times at the fast chargers.

The charging stations will be strategically located for drivers’ convenience with easy access to public amenities such as coffee shops and food outlets. Each location will offer multiple charging options that will be regularly serviced and maintained by an experienced team of EV-driving engineers to ensure high reliability. Customers can access support via phone, email, website, app, or social media.

While the total number of charging stations is set to reach 2,000 by the beginning of 2027, the company has not provided any further details regarding the charging capacity or the number of locations. Swarco’s managing director, Justin Meyer, has emphasized that the PoGo network will be “simple and easy” to use, putting electric car drivers at the center of everything they do.

Swarco Smart Charging has significant experience in the UK EV charging industry, having partnered with petrol station operator Motor Fuel Group and Volvo Trucks. The PoGo team will be led by Eugenio Herrero, who will act as PoGo’s managing director. “We will be building the PoGo network across the length and breadth of England, Scotland, and Wales so that wherever you are, or wherever you want to go, you will know that you can rely on PoGo,” he said.
