Stelato, a brand jointly created by Huawei and Beijing Automotive Group, has launched updated versions of its S9 sedan and S9T wagon as it seeks to remain competitive in China’s rapidly evolving electric vehicle market.

The updated Stelato S9 and Stelato S9T were unveiled at a spring product event, with both models priced from 319,800 yuan ($46,370). The new versions introduce additional exterior color options aimed at offering greater personalization for consumers.

Both vehicles are equipped with a new-generation 896-channel image-grade LiDAR system as standard, enhancing environmental perception capabilities. They also feature Huawei’s Qiankun ADS 4 smart driving system, designed to improve advanced driver assistance functions.

In terms of powertrain, the models continue to offer both battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants. The BEV versions are built on an 800-volt architecture and include a 100-kWh battery pack, enabling a driving range of more than 800 kilometers and fast-charging capability from 30% to 80% in approximately 15 minutes.

The EREV variants use Huawei’s Xuexiao intelligent range-extender system, which incorporates a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine to extend driving range.

The latest updates come shortly after previous model iterations, with the S9 refreshed in November 2025 and the S9T introduced in September 2025, reflecting a rapid product update cycle as the brand responds to competitive pressures.
