Spy photos circulating on Chinese social media have revealed the Zeekr 8X hybrid SUV for the first time, marking the electric vehicle maker’s second plug-in hybrid model following the recent launch of the Zeekr 9X.
Multiple automotive bloggers shared two images on Weibo this week, identifying the camouflaged vehicle as the Zeekr 8X. The model is expected to make its debut in the first quarter of 2026 with an estimated starting price of around 400,000 yuan ($56,580), while the core sales range is projected at 450,000 to 500,000 yuan, according to local media outlet Yiche.

The Zeekr 8X will be built on the company’s SEA-S hybrid platform, with a high-end variant expected to feature a tri-motor drivetrain and support 6C ultra-fast charging. The architecture is designed to underpin Zeekr’s growing lineup of high-performance hybrid vehicles as the brand diversifies beyond its battery-electric roots.

Zeekr management first acknowledged the 8X project during a conference call in May, indicating at the time that the hybrid SUV was scheduled for a fourth-quarter 2025 launch. That timeline was later adjusted as the company shifted focus to multiple model facelifts across its portfolio in the second half of this year.

The delay follows a broader reshuffle of product plans, including the postponement of the refreshed Zeekr 007 electric sedan to the second quarter of 2026. Zeekr launched its first hybrid SUV, the full-size Zeekr 9X, on Sept. 29, with a starting price of 465,900 yuan before promotions.
Built on the same SEA-S platform, the Zeekr 9X features a 2.0-litre turbocharged hybrid engine, a 900-volt electrical architecture and battery options of 55 kWh and 70 kWh, delivering up to 380 km of CLTC pure-electric range with support for 6C charging. The 9X currently stands as the most expensive model from a Chinese domestic automaker.
